The Papaya finds it remedial origins dating back to the 16th century. It is believed that tropical natives could eat meals heavy on meat if they followed it with a desert that consisted of the papaya. Today the natural papain enzyme that the Papaya contains is made into what is commonly known as antacid tablets.
